Exclusive and created by ANGELYK SAS, here is a new jewel papal to detail, well-made, representing the ring of the fisherman.
For the history of the ring, the international angler is a signet used until 1842 to seal any official document written by the pope or endorsed by him.
This ring shows St. Peter fishing in a boat.
"The ring of the fisherman" or piscatoire of the latin "Anulus piscatoris" is officially a part of the insignia of the pope.
The catholic church identifies him as the successor of Saint Peter, whose profession was that of a fisherman.
The tradition of the ring is certainly of mediaeval monarchs, to which the subjects showed respect and deference, with the kiss of the ring.
Over the centuries, the ring of the fisherman has nonetheless had a respect that far exceeds any trace that can be deduced from the symbolism of the feudal and the tradition still continues in our days.
